At WellPet Vets, we believe every cat deserves a loving home. That’s why we run our very own cat adoption program, giving cats and kittens in our care a second chance at a happy life. If you’ve been thinking about adding a furry friend to your family, here’s why our program could be the perfect fit.
Why Adopt Through WellPet
By adopting through WellPet, you’re supporting a community-focused initiative that ensures every cat is cared for, healthy, and ready for their forever home. Our team provides:
- Full health checks
- Vaccinations and parasite prevention
- Microchipping and desexing
- Registration with council
- Guidance on settling your cat into their new home
Every cat in our program has been carefully assessed to match them with the right family, helping ensure a smooth transition and long-term happiness for both you and your new companion.
Choosing the Right Cat
Cats have unique personalities – some love to play, others are content curling up in a sunny spot. When joining our adoption program, our team will help you find a cat that suits your lifestyle:
- Kittens: playful and curious, ideal if you have time to guide their early development
- Adult cats: often calm and settled, great for busy households
- Special needs or shy cats: thrive in quiet, patient homes with a little extra love
Preparing Your Home
Before bringing your new cat home, make sure you have:
- A quiet spot for their litter tray
- Food and water bowls
- A comfy bed or hiding place
- Toys and scratching posts to keep them entertained
Our team is happy to provide tips on setting up your home and making your cat feel safe and loved from day one.
The Joy of Adoption
There’s nothing quite like the bond formed with a cat you’ve given a second chance. Many families tell us that their WellPet adoptees seem to know they’ve found a forever home, rewarding them with endless affection and companionship.
Our Latest Intakes
Meet Mamma Martini and her adorable kittens, Cosmo & Mojito!
This gorgeous solid grey young mother is estimated to be just 6–10 months old herself, caring for her two tiny 2–3-week-old kittens. The little family was sadly found abandoned at a pub in Blacktown, but thanks to a kind member of the public, they were brought safely into our emergency clinic.
Now safe and cared for, they will stay together until the kittens are old enough to be weaned. Once the kittens are old enough, all three will be desexed, and during this period they will also receive vaccinations, treatment for external and internal parasites, and care for conjunctivitis. After their vet work is complete, they will be ready to find their forever homes.
